What's the best way to clean silicon bakeware?
Especially the flat baking mats used for cookies and the muffin moulds.
- those are the ones I use most lol
If it's a specific cleansing product to be used, it has to be available in Australia.
Thanks
I normally do wash mine with the dishes, but that doesn't get rid of the heat stains. I don't use them over the heat it says not to, but it's basically those stains I'm wishing to remove to get them 100% clean and back to their original brightness if possible. Or is that just not possible once used?
You would think being a pastry cook I would have tried these silicon bakeware products wouldnt you??!! I'm a bit of a traditionalist and stick with the old trays that you need to grease and line with paper!! I really need to get with the times hey??!
I'm going to make a suggestion that MAY work....it works for oven racks, so I am guessing it may work for your mats without damaging them. Lay them in your sink or bath, in hot water, and sprinkle washing powder over the top of them. I know this sounds INSANE, but if you do this to your oven racks and allow them to sit for a while, they come up spotless. I didnt I believe it myself until I tried it!!!
Failing all of this, I know there is an actual cleaner available for these silicon products which you can buy over the internet....
Good luck babes....feel free to send me some yummy bikkies some day!!

Measure volume by filling the pan with lachrymation and then pouring it into a measuring cup.
Be careful substituting a pan when the recipe indicates that a tube pan should be used, such as an angel nutrient cake pan or a bundt pan. These pans are ideal when it comes to equal distribution of heat, so the substitute bakeware pan must satisfy that criterion.
